Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the HireACar mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
HireACar is a car rental marketplace platform that connects vehicle owners ("Hosts") with individuals looking to rent vehicles ("Renters"). The App facilitates vehicle listing, searching, booking, and payment between Hosts and Renters in Pakistan, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license to use the App as a Renter. Hosts must be the legal owners of the vehicles they list or have proper authorization to rent them.
4. Account Registration
- You may register using your email address, Google account, Apple account, or phone number.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Identity verification (CNIC/National ID, driving license, biometric) may be required to access certain features.
5. User Responsibilities
For Renters:
- You agree to use rented vehicles responsibly and in accordance with local traffic laws.
- You will return vehicles on time and in the same condition as received.
- You are responsible for any damage, traffic violations, or fines incurred during the rental period.
For Hosts:
- You agree to list only vehicles you are legally authorized to rent.
- Vehicles must be properly insured, maintained, and roadworthy.
- You agree to provide accurate vehicle descriptions and photos.
6. Bookings and Payments
- All bookings are subject to availability and host approval.
- Pricing is set by Hosts and displayed in the local currency.
- HireACar may charge a service fee for facilitating bookings.
- Cancellation policies apply as specified at the time of booking — see Section 7 below.
Messaging Restriction
Renters cannot chat with a Host until payment for the booking has been successfully completed. This protects both parties and ensures only committed renters can initiate direct conversations with vehicle owners. The chat option becomes available immediately after the booking is paid and approved.
7. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Key Cancellation Rules
- Approved bookings can only be cancelled by the renter up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup.
- Hosts can only cancel an approved booking up to 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled pickup. Within 72 hours of pickup, hosts can no longer cancel.
- Where a refund is due, it is processed back to the original payment method within 48 hours of the cancellation being confirmed.
Bookings on HireACar can be cancelled, subject to the following rules:
- Pending bookings (not yet approved by the Host) may be cancelled by the Renter at any time at no cost.
- Approved / confirmed bookings may only be cancelled by the Renter at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup are not permitted through the app; please contact support for exceptional circumstances.
- Host cancellations are only allowed more than 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled pickup. Once a booking is within 72 hours of pickup, Hosts can no longer cancel through the app — the booking must proceed, unless the Renter cancels or support is contacted for genuine emergencies. When a Host cancels in the allowed window, the Renter receives a full refund.
- Refund processing time: Where a refund is due, it will be processed back to the original payment method within 48 hours of the cancellation being confirmed. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few additional business days for the funds to appear in your account.
- HireACar service fees may be non-refundable, except where the cancellation is initiated by the Host or caused by a verified platform error.
8. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Interfere with the operation of the App or its servers.
- Use vehicles for racing, off-road driving, or any purpose not agreed upon.
- Sub-rent vehicles obtained through the App without explicit permission.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property displayed in the App are owned by HireACar or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without prior written consent.
10. Limitation of Liability
HireACar acts as a marketplace platform and is not a party to rental agreements between Hosts and Renters. We do not own, operate, or maintain the vehicles listed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HireACar shall not be liable for:
- Vehicle condition, mechanical failures, or accidents.
- Disputes between Hosts and Renters.
- Loss or damage to personal property.
- Service interruptions or technical failures.
11. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App's profile settings.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Lahore, Pakistan.
