How do I hire a car in Pakistan with HireACar?+
To hire a car, search for your city, pick your dates, choose a car from a local owner or rental company, and send a request online or in the app. The host confirms your booking. You can hire a car without a driver, by the hour or by the day; some hosts also offer a driver.
Which cities does HireACar operate in?+
Most HireACar cars are in Lahore, with more in Islamabad, Karachi, Faisalabad and Multan. Each city page shows the cars available there today.
What types of cars are available for rent?+
Hosts list sedans (Toyota Corolla, Honda City), SUVs (Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Tucson), hatchbacks (Suzuki Alto, Cultus), minivans and more. What you can book depends on the cars listed in your city.
Can I rent a car with a driver in Pakistan?+
Some hosts offer a driver, and their car pages say so. Most cars on HireACar are self-drive, by the hour or by the day.
How much does it cost to hire a car in Pakistan?+
Prices vary by car type and city: see each city page and the Pricing Index (hireacar.pk/data/pricing-index) for live figures. Each owner sets their price, and the price you see already includes HireACar's 10% fee.
Is HireACar available as a mobile app?+
Yes. HireACar is on the iOS App Store and Google Play. Use it to browse cars, send booking requests and manage your rentals.
What is the cancellation and refund policy on HireACar?+
Nothing is charged until the host says yes, so a request can be cancelled for free. After that, each car follows the cancelling rule its host chose: the 1-day, 5-day, 14-day or 30-day rule (the 30-day rule unless the host picks another). The number is how many days before pickup the customer can cancel and get all the car rent back; closer to pickup, half or none of the rent comes back, as the car page shows. A booking made 7 or more days before pickup can be cancelled within 24 hours after the host says yes with all the rent back. Hourly bookings can’t be cancelled once the host says yes. If the customer cancels, the HireACar fee and the processing fee & taxes are not refunded. If the host cancels, the customer gets everything back. Do I need to pay a security deposit?+
HireACar does not hold deposits. If an owner asks for a security deposit, the amount and how it is returned are agreed with the owner before pickup.
Why does HireACar ask for my CNIC?+
Every renter signs up with a verified phone number and gives their CNIC number and a photo of the front of the card. Self-drive also needs a valid Pakistani driving licence. Owners may look at the original card at pickup, but may not keep it or any other original document.
Are there hidden charges?+
The price shown includes HireACar’s 10% fee. Every booking also has a processing fee & taxes (the cost of the card payment and the tax on it), shown on its own line before you pay. Fuel, tolls, parking and traffic fines during the trip are paid by the renter, and returning late costs extra. Any pickup or return delivery fee is shown before you send the request. Returning late: after 30 minutes of grace on hourly trips (1 hour on daily trips), each started hour is charged to the renter’s card until the car is back: the car’s hourly price plus the processing fee on that hour, with no cap.
What happens if the car is damaged during my trip?+
The renter is responsible for any damage to the car from pickup until it is returned. Anything that happens to the car is between the renter and the host. Full details: https://hireacar.pk/terms#damage
Can I message a host before paying for a booking?+
No. To protect both renters and owners, chat with a host opens once the booking is paid and approved. Each car page shows the photos, features and rules, so you can decide before you book.
