Yes. Most cars on HireACar in Islamabad are self-drive, by the hour or by the day. Self-drive rentals require a valid Pakistani driving licence and CNIC. Any deposit is agreed with the owner before pickup; HireACar does not hold deposits today.

Renters need a valid CNIC (Pakistani national ID) and, for self-drive bookings, a valid Pakistani driving licence. Visitors from abroad should contact HireACar before booking.

Bookings are paused for now while card and wallet payments are added. Once they reopen: browse cars at hireacar.pk/rent-a-car/islamabad, pick dates and send a free request. The owner confirms it, you pay online, and you collect the car at the agreed pickup location in Islamabad.

HireACar does not hold deposits. If an owner asks for a security deposit, the amount and how it is returned are agreed with the owner before pickup.

Every renter signs up with a verified phone number and gives their CNIC number and a photo of the front of the card. Self-drive also needs a valid Pakistani driving licence. Owners may look at the original card at pickup, but may not keep it or any other original document.

The price shown includes HireACar’s fee; there is no booking fee on top. Fuel, tolls, parking and traffic fines during the trip are paid by the renter, and returning late costs extra. Any pickup or return delivery fee is shown before you send the request. Returning late: after 30 minutes of grace on hourly trips (1 hour on daily trips), each started hour is charged at the car’s hourly rate, up to one day’s price per day late.

Requests can be cancelled free of charge until you have paid. After that, renters can cancel up to 24 hours before pickup and hosts up to 72 hours before pickup. Refunds are sent back by bank transfer and usually arrive within 2–5 business days. Full policy: hireacar.pk/terms#cancellation.
