Rent a Car by the Hour in Pakistan: How Hourly Self-Drive Works

Rent a self-drive car for 4 to 12 hours in Lahore and other cities: live hourly prices, the day-price cap, late returns, and when hourly beats a full day.

Updated 17 October 2026 · By the HireACar team

Most rent-a-car offices in Pakistan sell a full day, often 12 hours with their driver. Sometimes you only need a car for an afternoon: a few errands, an airport run, a meeting across town or a family visit. On HireACar you can rent a car by the hour and drive it yourself. Some cars can be booked by the hour, for 4 to 12 hours; an hourly booking never costs more than the day price.

Today 3 cars can be booked by the hour, from Rs 499 an hour, fee included.

How the price works

  • You pick a start time and how many hours, from 4 to 12.
  • The price is the car's hourly rate times the hours, and it is capped at the car's day price.
  • Each owner sets their price, and the price you see already includes HireACar's 10% fee.
  • Petrol, tolls and parking are yours to pay. Return the car with the fuel level you got it with.

Example from a live listing: a Suzuki Alto VXR 2026 at Rs 499 an hour costs Rs 2,994 for 6 hours, against Rs 3,850 for the full day.

When hourly makes sense

  • Errands and visits with several stops, where a ride-hailing app would mean many short trips and waiting.
  • Airport runs when you want your own car for the drive and the luggage.
  • Events: a dinner, a mehndi or a meeting where you need a car for the evening, not the whole day.
  • Trying a car before you rent it for a long trip, or before you buy the same model.

Booking an hourly car

  1. Open a car that shows an hourly price and choose “Hourly” when you pick the dates.
  2. Pick the start time and the number of hours, and send the request.
  3. The owner confirms. You pay online, and chat with the owner opens.
  4. At pickup, take photos of the car and the fuel gauge with the owner.
  5. Return on time. Returning late: after 30 minutes of grace on hourly trips (1 hour on daily trips), each started hour is charged at the car’s hourly rate, up to one day’s price per day late.

HireACar is a marketplace. The car belongs to the host, and the rental is an agreement between you and the host. HireACar is not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, accident, fine or injury involving the car.
